Draw Polyhedra

Display a convex polyhedron around selected atoms. The vertices are atoms of a selected kind between a given minimum and maximum distance from the center atom.

Input Ports

structure_in MoleculeType Molecular structure data. If it contains unit cell definition data (ie. read from a format that contains it) then selecting the "unit cell" style displays the glyph oriented along the basis set. If not connected displays the coordinate glyph.

Parameters

Select center atoms atoms selection widget The list of atoms contained in the input structure. The list could show individual atoms or element types. A buttom permits clearing the selection. The freeze toggle disable the selection and make possible saving the selection in the application.
Polyhedra type radio buttons Select the type of polyhedra for the selected center atom:
None
Draw nothing.
By coordination
The vertex number is the number of bonded atoms.
By distance
The vertices lays in the given range of distances form the central atom.
Sphere
A sphere of the given radius is draw around the center atoms.
Min distance/Radius slider Minimum distance of any vertex from the polyhedron center atom. If "Sphere" is selected it sets the radius of the sphere.
Max distance slider Maximum distance of any vertex from the polyhedron center atom.
Number of vertices slider Number of vertices of the polyhedrons. The minimum value is 3.
Exact toggle If selected, only polyhedra with the requested number of vertces and no possibility of more are build. For example if with the distance constraints a cube (8 vertices) could be built, but an octahedra has been requested, then the octahedra will not be built.
vertex atoms list The kind of atoms that should occupy the vertices of the polyhedra. "Any type of atom" could be selected.
Opacity slider The opacity of the facies of the polyhedras.
Borders toggle If selected, a line is draw along the borders of the polyhedras.
White borders toggle If selected, the border lines are draw white, otherwise black. Active only when Borders is selected.
Flat appearance toggle If selected, the polyhedras are rendered with flat shading. This can be useful to make them visually pop-out.
Force color toggle If selected, the polyhedra color is set by the user with the color chooser widget. Otherwise the color is set by the center atom type.

Output Ports

obj DefaultObject The renderable version of the polyhedra.
